DJ Statik Selektah Releases Sophomore Album Print E-mail
Thursday, 11 September 2008 02:04
It's been a year since DJ Statik Selektah made sure the world "Spelled his name right." On his sophomore album, Statik continued to steer away from the over fabricated ring-tone production that is popular today. The album is appropriately entitled Stick 2 The Script.

Mixtapes and mixshow radio everywhere have already started playing the lead single, "To the Top" featuring Cassidy, Saigon and Termanology. Rik Cordero hopped onboard to direct this Reservoir Dog inspired music video, which has already got over 100,000 views.

Stick to the Script features a number of hard-hitting tracks such as "For the City" featuring M.O.P. and Jadakiss. On this New Jack City-inspired track, Statik took a acapella group's soulful chanting and created an unforgettable New York City classic! Statik also tries a few different things this time around, bringing his East Coast  Boom-Bap style production to the South and West Coast. Down south legend, Bun B joins UGK-fam Cory Mo on "Get Out the Way" and Glasses Malone, Mistah Fab, and Novel vibe out on a lowrider inspired "Cali Nights".

Another standout song is "All 2gether Now", a powerful reunion of State Property's Freeway, Peedi Crakk, and Young Chris. Consequence gets it in solo with the Kanye West-Co Signed "Mr Popularity", also making its way around the net & mixtapes right now.

Stick 2 The Script will without a doubt get the streets buzzin' and the DJs spinnin' with other appearances from artists such as Talib Kweli, Consequence, Redman, Naledge of Kidz in the Hall, CL Smooth, Royce Da 5'9", Joell Ortiz, Reks, Little Brother, Torae, Sha Stimuli and many more. Stick 2 the Script is available worldwide October 21, 2008 on Showoff/Brick Records.
